Seeing that musical works could not be performed during the Covid-19 Pandemic period, Tahir Aydoğdu, a Qanun Artist and Choir Conductor managed to deliver the repertoire works he prepared from different maqams via the internet to a wide audience by playing his own qanun for approximately 45 days between April and June 2020. This effort, which he carried out on a fully voluntary basis, found its reflection in the society, and the masses participated in the art and cultural activities they were deprived of, from their homes. This art movement, which caused great satisfaction in the society, brought new art lovers into this internet community. Thus, art lovers have the opportunity to receive music services online where they are located, which cannot be received due to transportation, time and other reasons. Nearly 40 singers and instrument player from seven regions of Turkey have joined this online music group. The group, led by Turkish Radi and Television (TRT) Artist Mr. Aydoğdu, started its first exercise on December 2, 2020, and more than 25 modes and more than 100 works have been completed in the ongoing works. Along with these studies, videos are uploaded through social media and YouTube in order to deliver the music to larger audiences.

 

Also, during the process where the studies continued, Music Teacher Gülay Laçin from Diyarbakır, who tried to benefit from Tahir Aydoğdu's musical knowledge, gave solfege lessons to the group and gave the group the ability to read notes.

 

The qanun record prepared and shared by Mr. Tahir Aydoğdu before each work serves as a reference in the performance of the work. Önder Bengü and Ayşe Zuhal Alemdar, who wrote the notes of the works studied with professional notation programs, support the choir with a perfect service in accessing clean and accurate musical notation documents. And this music is combined with Gülay Laçin's Solfege records and videos of the work with notes are created.

 

Mr. Aydoğdu has combined technology and art with great mastery, and has achieved artistic innovation in the social field by introducing musical works that can only be acquired with a conservatory education to every place with internet access.
